Cellists Michael Lawson and John Lutterman are joined by bassoonist David Wells to perform sonatas of Boccherini, Geminiani, Bononcini, Patouart, Rameau, and Corrette, accompanied by Faythe Vollrath on harpsichord and organ.
Ecstasy of the Chaconne
featuring Robin Fisher, soprano
POSTPONED UNTIL FALL 2020
Sacramento Baroque Soloists explore the seductive, mystical dance, the Chaconne, in this concert featuring soprano Robin Fisher as guest artist with Dancers Zilan Chen and Heidi McLean
appearing courtesy of The Ballet Studio.
First traveling from Spain to Italy along with fashionable guitarists, the chaconne with its repetitive bass line became a musical background for dancing, hypnotic and dangerous. Sacramento Baroque Soloists explore the scope of this seductive, mystical dance along with its counterparts, the passacaglia and the bergamasca.
